Copperas Cove, TX — The Copperas Cove Fire Department has ruled Monday’s big fire an accident.

Arson has been ruled out by investigators.

The fire completely destroyed the vacant apartment building at 300 Sunset Lane in Copperas Cove.

Neighbors nearby believe a homeless person was using the building for shelter and warmth during Monday’s windstorm.
