Annual tradition started today
Waco, TX — For the eighth year in a row, the city of Waco has invited local schools to come sing Christmas carols inside city hall.
The program kicked off today as fourth and fifth graders from the Texas Christian Academy filled the halls of city government with holiday spririt.
Eight schools over a two-week period will participate in the annual tradition.
Parents and citizens in the area are encouraged to come listen to the kids sing.
Schools say they love the opportunity and city employees say they appreciate the music.
"Oh they love it. They can take a 10 or 15-minute break and come down if they want to," said city employee Larry Holze. "They can open their doors and still here the sound as it travels. It is always interesting and we have a good variety this year."
