WACO -- In his first court appearance, he made it a memorable one.
AWOL soldier Nasser Jason Abdo, who is accused of plotting an attack on Fort Hood, was arraigned in federal magistrate court this morning at the McLennan County Courthouse.
Reports say he refused to stand up during the hearing when asked and as he was being escorted out he yelled Nidal Hasan's name in reference to the 2009 shooting at Fort Hood.
U.S. Magistrate Jeffrey C. Manske formally charged Abdo with possessing an unregistered firearm, ordered him to be held without bond and remanded him to custody at the McLennan County Jail until another appearance next week.
