Appeal denied for convicted murderer

BRYAN -- An appeal is denied for a Bryan man on death row who was convicted of setting his ex-girlfriend on fire and killing her in 1994.

Carl Henry Blue's attorneys wanted to declare to the Court of Appeals that Blue is mentally impaired, making him ineligible for execution, but a three-judge panel rejected Blue's arguments.

His execution date has not been set.
