Baby homicide, sibling in foster care
WACO -- On Nov 15th, Waco police responded to a suspicious death of 8 month old Aydrian Kirvin at Hillcrest Hospital.
Earlier that day the baby was dropped off at the Family Health Center on the 1600 block of Providence for breathing problems.
But then, Kirvin went into cardiac arrest and was rushed to the Hillcrest ER.
"Once they got it to Hillcrest Hospital they were not able to revive the baby and at that point contacted police," Sgt. Patrick Swanton with Waco Police said.
Autopsy reports declared the baby's death a homicide, so police are trying to determine whether his injuries were accidental or intentional, but they're not revealing what type of injuries the child had.
"They'll try and determine if those are just normal everyday kids getting injured kind of injuries or if it was a sign or symptom of an abusive situation which the child could or could not have been in," Sgt. Swanton said.
New developments show us the baby had a sibling, and the 2 year old brother is now in foster care.
Which is standard procedure for this type of case but it's not necessarily permanent and does not automatically indicate the parents are abusive.
"One of the things that we must do is make sure that a child is placed in a safe home. and sometimes where there's a lot of stress and sadness, the best place for that child may be outside of their parents home," Julie Moody, media specialist with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services said.
