The Baylor physics department has recently joined the compact Muon Solenoid research team.
The team will travel to Geneva, Switzerland, home of the largest particle accelerator in the world.
Part of their work will be to look for the "God particle" which some say will help explain the origin of the universe.
Dr. Dittman believes that Baylor has the ability to contribute a lot to the project, due to their expertise in computer technology.
The group from Baylor will join the European organization for nuclear research until the project closes.
