WACO -- Authorities have confirmed the identity of a body found in a burning car outside of Waco as a Baylor University student.

Examiners at Southwest Institute of Forensics in Dallas used dental records to confirm the body belongs to 18-year-old Baylor freshman William Patterson of San Antonio.

The body was found in the back seat of a Cadillac engulfed in flames Thursday morning.

The body was so badly burned the race, gender and age could not be determined.
