WACO -- A Waco Parks and Recreation project three years in the making is finally complete.
Today was the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Brazos Park East.
The 3.1 million dollar project was funded by a 2007 bond and a Texas Parks and Wildlife grant.
Now locals can enjoy a new boat ramp, pavilion, disc golf course, trails and many other new commodities.
"For the most part we just have a really wonderful opportunity now for people to come enjoy the great outdoors of Waco, Texas," City Manager, Larry Groth said.
A new paddling trail was also opened at the river today.
The park is located on Martin Luther King Drive, between Herring Avenue and Lake Shore Drive.
