BRYAN -- A Bryan High School student is behind bars tonight after assaulting a school resource officer Thursday afternoon.
Bryan police tell us rumors were swirling around the high school campus that someone was carrying a gun.
When 17-year-old Tarreze Ledell Porch was stopped in the hallway for questioning, after the school resource officer said he matched the description given of the possible student, Porch became uncooperative and refused to stop and answer questions.
Police say the officer then put Porch on a wall to check for weapons and that's---- when they say he got physical.
"A struggle ensued at which time they went to the ground and the student began to resist and began elbowing the officer in the face and upper body area," said Officer Jon Agnew. "It eventually took two officers to get him detained and in handcuffs."
No weapon was found but Porch is in the Brazos County Jail tonight on $12,000 bail.
He is being charged with resisting arrest and assault on a public servant.
