Bryan woman in critical condition after being shot

BRYAN -- A woman is in critical condition after being shot early Saturday morning. It happened in the 900 block of Suncrest St. around 2:00 a.m.

When police arrived, they found a female victim with gunshot injuries. She was transported to to a local hospital.

The suspect involved in the shooting, 31-year-old Quincy Butler, had fled the scene in his vehicle.

Thirty minutes later, Waller County Sheriff’s Department located Butler on Highway 290 headed toward Houston. The vehicle fled from the Sheriff’s Department and later wrecked out.

Butler is now in custody for Evading in a Vehicle, Possession of Controlled Substance and Possession of Firearm by Felon by the Waller County Sheriff’s Department.

The Bryan Police Department has also charged the suspect with two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
