WACO -- Many of you have heard about the bullying epidemic happening across the country.

Now Central Texas parents have an opportunity to learn how they can play a part in preventing it.

Next Tuesday, February 28, the Region 12 Education Service Center in Waco is hosting a free session to teach parents the ins-and-outs of bullying.

A speaker will present tools to help parents understand the connection between bullying social media and internet safety.

"Parents are a first line of defense. Parents are the ones that help our kids with driver safety and, uh substance abuse prevention. Well this is another important prevention role that parents need to fill," said Nancy Cross, an education specialist.

The event is from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and a light meal will be provided.

They suggest you register as soon as possible to ensure a seat.
