COLLEGE STATION -- Heads up. Car burglaries in College Station seem to be happening left and right.

Police tell Fox 28 they're seeing break-ins more frequently.

Since January, the police have arrested 30 people for car theft.

And adding to the arrests,19-year old Juan Humberto Munoz, is now behind bars for breaking into at least two cars this weekend.

Officer Seaton says unlocked cars and your things left in plain sight, make you an easy target.

"You'll see them in neighborhoods, you'll see them in shopping centers. It's kind of a you know, where ever they happen to be, you know and they see something. it's a crime of opportunity," said Seaton.

The only way to ensure your car is safe from burglars is to lock your car, take your keys and hide your belongings.

Officer Seaton also says park your car in a well lighted area to avoid having your car broken into.
