COLLEGE STATION -- For the past month, Chef Tai's mobile food truck has been sitting at the top of the Food Network's "Great Food Truck Race" leader board and after weeks of voting online, the winner was announced during the show's season finale.
And the truck picked as America's favorite? Our very own, Chef Tai's mobile bistro!!!
More than 400 million votes were cast and Chef Tai beat out 600 other food trucks from all across the country.
Chef Tai tells us he never imagined his truck would be the overall winner of the competition but says he's blessed to have been given this opportunity.
"You know, it's really a victory for the town and a victory for the Aggies who supported us. It's not really my own victory because I didn't go out and compete somewhere, it's our local residents and Aggies voting for us continuously and persistently," said Tai.
Along with being named the best truck, Chef Tai won a $10,000 prize.
He donated a portion of his earnings to the Bastrop, Grimes and Montgomery wildfire relief funds.
The rest of the money will go toward buying his staff uniforms and getting his truck highway-ready in case his mobile bistro is chosen to be on season three of the "Great Food Truck Race."
