Child in critical condition after Temple shooting

TEMPLE -- The investigation continues in a shooting that left 2 dead and one in the hospital at Twin Oaks Apartments in Temple.
A five year old boy is in critical condition at a Temple hospital today after police say a shooting leaves him with no parents.
"We arrived and found that two adults were deceased from apparent gunshot wounds and that the child, at the time, had unknown injuries," Sgt. Brad Hunt told Fox 44.
Police say his parents, Chanry Sophy and Veasna Prok, were fatally shot in the head. People who knew the family were first at the scene.
Police say concerned friends walked into the apartment at this complex to find the little boy in the living room, conscious but with blood on his body and his parents dead in the bedroom.
They later found out the five year old had been shot in the head.
Police aren't sure when the shooting happened, saying the little boy could have been alone for hours or even days.
"The boy suffering from a wound and then unsupervised by himself. That part is, of course, a little disturbing to officers. Whenever you see a child injured or hurt like that, it's an extra measure of devotion," Sgt. Hunt explained.
Officers say a key piece of evidence to show how long the boy was alone will be the time of deaths of the parents.
They are now working to figure out who fired the shots, when it happened and why.
