Waco police are searching for a black male who robbed the Skinny's Convenience Store early Thursday morning.

According to police officials, a black male entered the store located at 18th and Lyle around 3:25 a.m. The suspect, now known as 44-year old Leon Childress, wore a mask into the store, acted as if he had a weapon and demanded money from the clerk.

When Childress reached across the counter toward the register, the clerk was able to knock off the suspect's mask. This helped the clerk to identify the suspect who then ran from the store.

Officers obtained the suspects last known address where they arrested him from a home located in the 1500 block of Herring Avenue.

Childress was taken into custody without incident and evidence related to the robbery was recovered from the house.
