COLLEGE STATION -- We've told you before College Station ISD was considering changing their school start times next fall.
Now, parents don't have to worry anymore. After a lot of public concern, mostly from unhappy parents, the school board decided against the three-tiered bus schedule even though it would have saved the school district over $300,000 a year.
Now the board will have to dip into its fund balance in order to cut more than $1.3 million from the budget next year.
Superintendent, Dr. Eddie Coulson said, "There's so many moving parts right now with school finances. Obviously the Legislature gives direction to school finance, there are a number of lawsuits, a lawsuit being filed and others that are likely being filed on behalf of school districts related to school finance."
So College Station ISD is no longer sitting back. During last night's board meeting they joined Fort Worth, Rockdale and Houston in a lawsuit against the state of Texas.
