Construction near Kyle Field will cause traffic delays on game day

COLLEGE STATION -- Saturday is game day in Aggieland, which means thousands of fans will be headed out to Kyle Field for kick off and if you normally take Wellborn Road to get there, you'll need to find an alternate route.
That's because construction is under way to replace the connector ramps at Wellborn Road and University Drive.
The northbound lane of Wellborn has been reduced to one lane, so College Station police are warning drivers to plan ahead and try to avoid the area if possible
"Definitely be cautious because one of the things game days will add is a lot of pedestrian traffic so when you're in a construction zone, you have pedestrians and cones, and you're a little bit confused because things are different, the road is narrow and you're in one lane and have to get in the other, it tends to cause problems," said Lt. Rodney Sigler with the College Station Police Department.
Lt. Sigler says another option is to take the free shuttle service from Post Oak Mall to avoid driving all together.
Construction is expected to be done by mid-January.
