Copperas Cove School employee charged with sexual assault

FROM THE COPPERAS COVE POLICE DEPARTMENT:
COPPERAS COVE, TEXAS – On March 23, 2011, Copperas Cove Police began investigating an incident regarding an improper relationship between a Copperas Cove High School student and an educator. During the investigation, a statement was obtained from a 16 year old female student in which she detailed her involvement with an employee of the Copperas Cove Independent School District while at his Copperas Cove residence on February 26, 2011.
As a result of the investigation and review of the details, an affidavit was filed and a warrant was issued by Justice of the Peace John Guinn on April 3, 2011, charging 37 year old Matthew Thomas Doyle with Sexual Assault. Matthew turned himself in to the Copperas Cove Police Department on April 4, 2011 and was arrested on the warrant. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace John Guinn on April 5, 2011 and received a $25,000 surety bond. Matthew has since posted bond and was released from custody earlier this morning.
Copperas Cove Police are continuing to investigate the incident and are working with the Copperas Cove Independent School District to complete the investigation.
