COLLEGE STATION -- A Corpus Christi man is busted after surveillance video caught him stealing from a College Station hotel.

A guest of the Howard Johnson Express Inn, off State Highway Six, called police Saturday after his car was broken into and a radar detector was stolen.

When police looked over surveillance video from the hotel, they found 20-year-old Marc Cooper breaking into the laundry room stealing 50 towels, over 100 different toiletry items and an industrial-size laundry basket.

"Police arrived and the officer went with the manager and opened up the hotel room door," said Officer Rhonda Seaton. "The officer could see from the outside that there was a lot of items in that room that had been stolen that had been reported by manager earlier."

Cooper was only charged with burglary of a building because the vehicle owner declined to press charges.

Cooper has since bonded out of jail.
