PEARL -- Even with rain in the forecast, fires continue to blaze through Central Texas.
Fire departments from three Central Texas counties are still battling five grassfires between Gatesville and Evant.
The fires started as eleven separate fires Sunday morning before molding into five, burning over 1600 acres.
The largest fire, responsible for burning 1400 acres, is the biggest threat and is keeping fire crews busy.
"As far as their conatinment, the largest one is the one that we have the lowest, containment on right now. We're estimated around 40 percent," said Robert Grisham, of the Texas Forest Service.
The forest service said there was one abandoned building damaged last night and at least 10 homes were saved.
The massive fires were all started by someone towing a hot barbeque pit behind their vehicle on the highway.
