WACO -- It's almost spring and its time to clean out the clutter in your home that was gathered throughout the winter.

Places like the Salvation Army say it's the perfect opportunity to do some good and donate that clutter in your closet instead of throwing it away.

The donations go to help those in need and need is high.

"We still have a lot of people coming to us not only from the public but also from our shelters that are needing things. Some people come into our shelters don't have anything when they come into our shelters and so we have to find clothing and items for them," said Major Dan Ford, Waco Salvation Army.

Ford says the greatest need is furniture, men's clothing, children's clothing and kitchen utensils.

To make a donation you can drop it off at any of the Salvation Army centers or call (254)753-2043 to schedule a free pickup.
