KOSSE -- "Pretty disheartening to hear about what had happened. It was probably just something that didn't have to happen its kind of shook the community up a little bit," said John McCarver, Kosse resident.

With the town population just under 500, this type of crime doesn't happen often in Kosse, Texas.

"We've had two or three incidents like this over the years, but it's just very, you know, uncommon to have a killings like this," said McCarver.

Around 4 p.m. Thursday, police responded to a home on the 500 block of Limestone County Road 706.

There they say they found the bodies of 48-year-old Mark Tays of Rosebud and 43-year-old Roger West of San Marcos.

One was found lying in the front yard and the other shot dead inside the home.

Limestone County police were not available for comment on the incident and until more details are released the people in Kosse are left with unanswered questions.

"Most people are in dismay. I mean they don't understand exactly why it happened or they really don't know for sure what happened. There's a lot of rumors floating and of course until you get down to the facts no one knows for sure," said McCarver.
