An elderly woman is killed after a rollover accident at the intersection of Martin Luther King and North Earl Rudder Freeway Frontage Road.

Bryan officers were called to the wreck around 5:40 p.m. When they arrived on scene, they saw one vehicle had rolled over and several passengers were hurt.

Investigators found that a 1994 Ford Taurus was traveling eastbound on the E. Martin Luther King overpass. The Ford then ran the red light at the intersection colliding with a 2009 Kia Sportage that was traveling northbound on the E. Frontage Road of N. Earl Rudder Freeway. The impact caused the Kia to roll over on its roof. All three passengers in the Kia and the driver of the Ford were taken to a local hospital.

The woman killed in the wreck is identified as Mary Thomas, 70, of Lexington, Texas.

Justin Gonzales, 17, of  Bryan, was cited for disregarding a red signal. All drivers and passengers were wearing seatbelts in the accident.
