Bill Flores ousted 10-term incumbent Chet Edwards last night, in their race towards Congress.

Mr. Edwards has been in tough races in the past, but this is the one that will end his years in Congress.

Mr. Flores has never ran for a public office until now, but had a clear victory last night against Mr. Edwards, winning nearly 62 percent of the votes.

Mr. Flores says, "I'm very honored and humbled by all the support that the folks of District 17 provided for us by voting for us." He also says that after being sworn in on January 5th, that his team can start working on things like private sector job creation, and helping the community get back on its feet, and getting the federal deficit under control.

Mr. Flores says that starting today, he will be working closely with his team on a smooth transition plan, that will lead them to a smooth beginning, while starting quickly on his new plans to meet the needs of the people.
