Ft. Hood authorities arrest wanted burglar

On June 29 Killeen police received a Crime Stoppers tip identifying the suspect in a burglar from earlier this month. The case was reviewed by the Bell County District Attorney’s Office and a complaint was returned charging 27-year-old Richard Sexon Barnes with credit/debit card abuse and Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke issued a warrant for his arrest.

On Tuesday Fort Hood authorities arrested Barnes. He is currently in the Bell County Jail with a $20,000 bond.


Killeen Police need your help identifying a man who burglarized a car in Killeen and used a Debit card he stole from the vehicle.

On June 15 at around 7:00 p.m. a woman reported that her vehicle was burglarized on June 12.

The woman said at around 6:00 a.m. a debit card was stolen from the vehicle during the burglary. The victim also reported that her debit card had been used at several locations within Killeen on June 12 and again on June 13.

On June 12 the video from the Sun Mart located at 101 E. VMB showed a black male wearing a white shirt with multiple colored designs on it, khaki shorts, white tennis shoes and a green and white trucker style hat, using the victim’s debit card. He was driving a dark blue Ford Crown Victoria 4dr with 22” rims. The vehicle also had an emblem on the back window with the words Show Stoppers.
