KILLEEN -- The Bell County Health District has released the source of an E. Coli cluster in Killeen.

The source is the guacamole from the Jason's Deli on Central Texas Expressway.

Health officials first noticed it between April 15th and 19th with five people reporting symptoms.

Then, investigations revealed ten more probable cases where people could've been in contact with it.

Epidemiologist Lacy Sanders told Fox 44 we are always at risk for it, but there are ways to protect yourself.

"Asking people to change their gloves in between touching your food and touching somebody else's. is always recommended. Making sure that if you order ground beef that you're not getting it under cooked, not drinking any water that could be contaminated, even pool water," said Dr. Sanders.

The Health District says it is possible the guacamole was contaminated on arrival to the Jason's Deli or during the preparation phase.

The cluster has since been contained.
