HEARNE -- A Hearne teenager is dead tonight after being thrown from his ATV Wednesday afternoon.

Officials with the Department of Public Safety say 17-year-old De'Jon Pierce was driving his 4-wheeler with a friend when he lost control and crashed it into a ditch.

Both were thrown from the a-t-v and Pierce was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passenger was taken to a hospital in Bryan where he was treated.

Neither of the teens were wearing a helmet.

Thanks for pointing this out. Another peeve with Lion is the overuse of low-contrast fonts in key parts of applications like iCal and Address Book. For example, in Address Book, on the “Card” page, the titles of the fields are so low contrast that they are hard to read if there is any glare on the screen. And in iCal, in the Week view, other than the current day, the date is hard to read under office lighting conditions. This is beside the fact that they make poor use of screen real estate. Address book is just plain ugly on a Mac screen. Not all iOS notions translate nicely to the Mac…
