AUSTIN -- A redistricting map passed by the Texas House has left some Representatives worried about their new territory.

The new map cuts McLennan County in half  and adds Brazos County.

Democrats oppose the map saying it was drawn in a way that would less minority voting strength.

Rep. Marva Beck of District 57 wasn't too thrilled with the map because she loses Robinson, East McLennan and Falls Counties.

"I'm losing some counties that I have spent a lot of time in and made friends there and sorry to lose. I'm picking up more rural counties which is good for me because I've worked in rural areas for some years," said Beck.
the map still has to win senate and governor Perry's approval....
