Killeen ISD is investigating an odd situation, where piles of student papers with personal information like social security numbers were found in a field.
School officials say a father of a student in the district found the papers, underneath his truck, near Old F.M. 440 in Killeen.
He called school officials Sunday night, who claim they have always had strict policies regarding the privacy of their students.
Leslie Gilmore, spokesperson for KISD, says, "KISD takes very seriously the protection of student and employee information, and this is an unfortunate incident and it is something that will be thoroughly investigated and then appropriate action will be taken."
No answers yet on how the papers ended up in the field, or if all the papers were found. However, school officials say this is a high priority, and will continue investigating.
