WACO -- Through it's seven franchise brands the Waco based Dwyer Group has pledged to hiring 300 veterans over the next three years.
"It's important to have people that can follow a system and veterans are great at that, being a part of the military service, following systems and fitting in a group, adhering to guidelines and that kind of thing," said Mike Bidwell, President of The Dwyer Group.
But they're getting more than just a quality employee.
"Michelle Obama is working with the, uh the International Franchise Association and other groups to extend benefits to hiring a veteran and those, those include some tax breaks. I believe it's up to $9,000," said Bidwell.
As for veterans, they too can gain more than just a job through a veteran initiative program under the Dwyer Group.
"We offer financial incentives for veterans that may want to purchase a business. A 25 percent discount to veterans against the purchase of a franchise," said Bidwell.
Ultimately it's about paying back those who have sacrificed for us.
"It's a way to give back to our veterans we appreciate the service that they've, given this country."
