Man charged in double homicide confesses

LIMESTONE COUNTY -- The victims of a double homicide near Mart have been identified and the murder suspect is captured.

Police in Grand Prairie, Texas have arrested 39-year-old Charles Griffith in connection with the brutal murder Saturday night of 42-year-old Jeffrey Summers and 56-year-old Pam Lykins of Mart.

Griffith who knew the victims was arrested along with another suspect who has yet to be named.

Police say Griffith confessed to the crime.

"He provided us with a oral confession. He also provided us some additional information. We were led to, an area to recover some, physical evidence that will link him to a vehicle as well as the murder scene," said Dennis Wilson, Limestone County Sheriff.

Wilson says the victims, suspect and one other spent the evening together at a house before going to the Prairie Hill races Saturday.

Police are in the process of transferring Griffith to the Limestone County Jail.
