WACO -- Midway ISD is receiving state-wide recognition for its astronomy program. Which was highlighted in the 5th annual "Bragging Rights" issue in the "Texas School Business Magazine."

The astronomy program is unique in Central Texas because students get to spend plenty of time in a portable, digital planetarium.

This was all made possible by Midway High School teacher *Liz  Walker and Assistant Superintendent Dr.David Young.

"Just to see all the hard work that's gone into this program as it has developed over the last couple of years acknowledged by the bragging rights has been a phenomenal thing," Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction David Young said.

Killeen ISD is also among the 12 school programs recognized.
