WACO -- Subsequent natural disasters could cause a hike in your home insurance rate.
The state of Texas is the most susceptible to natural disasters in all nine categories.
In 2008 Texas had the most natural disaster claims and currently insurance rates are still influenced by the effects of Hurricane Ike and Hurricane Rita causing insurance companies to pay $11.6 billion in catastrophe losses.
And Central Texans will soon feel the effects from 2011's disasters.
"Things that happen in 2011 like the wildfires, is probably going to be another, uh, 12 to 18 months before, I would think those would start effecting us," said David Wilson, an Allstate Insurance Agent.
Insurance agencies suggest making sure you are covered for all types of weather in Texas and reach out to your agent for a yearly coverage check-up.
