WACO -- The Waco Community Development was awarded a nearly 90,000 dollar grant from the Waco Foundation.

The grant will go towards The East Waco Community Development Plan that was designed to revitalize and support the East Waco area.

Through this money, development officials can work with other organizations in the area to find a solution....

"How do we all work together to make East Waco a stronger place? You know, where should we build houses, what type of houses should we be building, how do we market, you know, to East Waco, how do we play on its strengths, how do we expand those strengths? And so, that's what this grant is all about is helping us be able to work with all those people and make these things happen," Waco Community Development community organizer, Walker Moore said.

Waco Community Development has been working with areas of North Waco for the past 10 years.

They're hoping to make similar changes to East Waco.
