HEWITT -- Police are still investigating five cases of tires being slashed in local neighborhoods.
The vandalism started last Thursday on Del Rio Street, then the vandals struck again Sunday night on Romada Street right near the police station.
With people traveling for Thanksgiving authorities are picking up patrols in these neighborhoods.
They're currently looking at surveillance video to help identify the suspects who they believe are juveniles.
"We've increased the patrols in the neighborhoods and we're looking for what we believe is going to be teens that are committing this offense. So we're talking to several people at the schools as well as individuals in the neighborhood," said deputy chief Jim Devlin with Hewitt police.
Police say the vandalism is costing victims thousands of dollars.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hewitt Police Department.
