Fish Creek Baptist Church, a century old church in Reagan, burned to the ground Sunday night. Several local fire stations responded to the scene, but say it was a total loss by the time they arrived.
Mary Murphy, church member, says "Fish Creek Church is just a part of us, you know? I still live here, and every time I pass, I think about the service we used to have. We had real good service."
She says the church held anniversary's and community dinners outside, which were her favorite. It brings tears to her eyes when she see's that it is all gone.
Ms. Murphy says there was a fire just down the road two days before, and believes they could be connected. She says, "somebody could be doing these things, I don't know, and I said down here in the country you know, there's vacant houses and everything around you. So I was wondering what was going on."
The fire is still being investigated, but officials do say they believe it could be arson.
