Early Tuesday morning a 15 passenger  McLennan County Salvation Army van was stolen from their church parking lot in the 1200 block of South Jack Kultgen Expressway and has yet to be recovered.

The Salvation army is asking for help due to the fact that the van was used multiple times a day to take bell ringers to their locations. Without the van, it will lead to a shortage of donations coming into the kettles, which will cause a shortage in funds that are used year round to meet the ever growing needs of those in McLennan County. The van was also used to take children for character building activities, to visit local nursing homes and the veteran’s hospital to deliver Christmas gifts, to take veterans that participate in The Salvation Army extended stay program, and to take men and women for fellowship programs. Now, they are struggling to find additional methods to continue these services. If you would like to help please call 254-756-7271 and ask for Margie. The Salvation Army of McLennan County also has the following Christmas Wish List:

- 15 Passenger Van
- 5 New Computers
- Food to stock the shelves in the pantry
- New unwrapped Toys for the Toys for Tots Program

- Winter Hats, Coats, and Gloves- especially for children
- Volunteers for Office Work
- Diapers and Baby Wipes for Sally’s House Family Shelter
