St. Michael's out of financial trouble

BRYAN -- The future of Saint Michael's Episcopal school in Bryan has been very uncertain all school year, until now.
The school is finally out of financial trouble after raising more than $500,000 this year to keep the school's doors open.
At times Headmaster Kate Lucchese wasn't even sure if the school had enough money to remain open through the end of the year.
Now the school has began preparing for the future by announcing a new headmaster once Dr. Lucchese's contract is up this June and Dr. Lucchese says all of the changes couldn't be happening at a better time.
"It was going to look really ironic there for a while celebrating 40 years of excellence on our t-shirts and saying, 'Oh are we going to make it another 40 years?' and now it is so the kids will wear their shirts on Monday for our big anniversary so it's a huge relief. It's wonderful."
Dr. Lucchese says the school has also begun enrolling students for next fall and says the future looks promising because they've already filled half of their enrollment.
