WACO -- Caterpillar celebrated the opening of a new manufacturing plant in Waco Monday.
State and local officials all showed up for the ribbon cutting. They say it further defines Waco's economic strength.
Secretary of State, Hope Andrade, says it also means more jobs for Central Texans.
"We're so proud of the fact that Caterpillar has decided to expand their operation in Waco because it will create jobs," said Andrade. "That's what Texas has been known for. You know, we've created the most jobs than any other state in the nation, and it's because of the great workforce that we have in Texas."
The new plant will be building excavator hammers, and they plan to employee more than 60 workers.
