WACO -- A Valley Mills teenager is in the McLennan County Jail tonight, charged with manslaughter in a crash that killed a local college coed back in April.

17-year-old Mariela Cruz turned herself into authorities after an arrest warrant was issued for a crash that killed 19-year-old Megan Self of Crawford.

On April 5th, Cruz was on her cell phone while driving when she rear-ended Self, pushing her car into on-coming traffic where self collided with an 18-wheeler.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Cruz was not only driving without a driver's license, she's never had a license.
