TEMPLE -- Around 6 this morning a Sonic Drive-in was robbed in Temple.

It happened at the 2000 Bock of South 57th Street when a man with a handgun walked in and demanded cash.

He then locked the employees in a walk-in freezer and took off.

Since December 1st there have been eleven robberies in Temple and the trend is weighing heavily on police.

"We are committing extra resources to investigating and trying to curtail the trend, and of course to finding out who's doing it and catching them and being able to charge one or more people with one or more of these offenses," Temple PD information officer Sgt. Brad Hunt said.

Temple police say their greatest asset in catching these criminals are the people who live here.

So if you see anything suspicious don't hesitate to call police.
