CENTRAL TEXAS -- More money will be added to the stimulus plan that gives rebates for buying Energy Star appliances.

The Texas Comptroller is adding $8.5 million  to the $10 million fund. The additional money is from unused Public Sector Energy Efficiency Funds.

The purchase period for the rebate begins next week.

You can start buying appliances Dec. 20 to get the rebate, and it won't end until the funds run out.

Rebate amounts range from $1,000 dollars to $40.
