WACO TX.---Texting while driving has become a cause of destruction on the roadways.
This matter has been taken lightly for too long now, and is very dangerous for everyone on the road.
Focusing on a small screen, rather than the road and other surroundings, is extremely hazardous and needs to come to an end.
Sgt. Roseborough of the Waco Police Department says, "It takes your attention off the road. Things can happen in a split second on the roadway to cause an accident. Someone can get hurt. Someone can get killed."
Not only does this effect the person who is texting, it effects the safe driver as well who is trying to pay attention to the road rather that other things.
Ms. Bost, a local Waco resident says, "It aggravates me. It scares me. It makes me have to pay attention to them and not what's in front of me."
Currently, there are no laws in the state of Texas that prohibit texting while driving a vehicle, however police say that this is something that needs to be considered and looked at in the future.
