BRYAN -- Heads up parents. If you have gently used clothes that your kids have grown out of, don't throw them out just yet.
Twin City Mission will be holding a children's clothing drive for kids between the ages of five and twelve who can't afford to buy new clothes for school.
They are asking for jeans and tennis shoes but will also accept school uniforms and other clothing items.
This is the first back to school clothing drive Twin City Mission has put on and they are hoping the community will support them.
Ron Crozier, with Twin City Mission, says this drive is important because there is a large need for clothes in the community.
"There are programs in place that provide backpacks and school supplies for kids but what gets overlooked is something as simple as jeans and tennis shoes, things just all the kids wear to school and so we thought it was important for all of these kids to be able to start school on an equal playing ground," said Crozier.
If you'd like to make donations, they can be dropped off at the Twin City admissions building off South College or at the 2nd Chance Resale store off Wellborn Road.
Donations can be made starting Aug. 5 through the 10.
And if your kids need back to school clothes, on Aug. 13 at the Twin City community closet, all donated items will be handed out.
