The name of the juvenile that drowned Friday afternoon is Nicholas Carter. Nicholas was 15-years-old and resided in Waco.

Waco Police responded to a drowning Friday afternoon at Airport Park Beach at Waco Lake. Officers discovered that a 15-year-old juvenile had gone under the water and another man, 33-year-old Juan Castillos had also gone under trying to rescue the juvenile. Both males are from Waco.

The juveniles Aunt (Castillos girlfriend) saw the men go under and received assistance from several bystanders. Two bystanders went into the water and were able to recover the body of Juan Castillos. They attempted CPR but were not able to revive Castillos.

It is believed that the juvenile did not know how to swim and stepped into water over his head. When this occurred Castillos, who was in the water with the Juvenile attempted to rescue him, exhausted his self trying to find the juvenile and also drowned.

The Juveniles body was recovered later in the evening at approximately 8:00 p.m. Waco P.D was assisted by our Victim Services Unit, Waco Fire, Texas Game Wardens, McLennan County Sheriff Office, Woodway P.D. dive team, and U.S. Army Corp of Engineers Lake Rangers in the recovery of the second body.

Justice of the Peace Martin pronounced the individuals deceased and has not ordered an autopsy.

Around four this afternoon, officials say two men and a woman were swimming off Airport Park Beach, when one of the men, a teenager, went missing in the water. A 33-year old man jumped in to try and save the teen, but he drowned as well.

Search and rescue teams with the Texas Game Warden spent all evening searching for the missing teen's body with helicopters and boats.

Crews finally located the teen's body just after 8 p.m.

Police are still investigating. No names have been released.
