Kingston Lang, a 15 month old baby, fell from a vehicle driven by his mother, Kyeshia Gaines yesterday.
The child fell out of the vehicle when the door opened unexpectedly and the unrestrained child fell to the ground.
Baby Lang was believed to have been hit by a second vehicle, a Gold Grand Marquis while lying in the roadway.
Lang's mother stopped and returned to her child and left the scene of the accident.
The driver of the Grand Marquis, described as a black male by witnesses, left the scene as well.
Kyeshia Gaines was arrested for Endangering a Child due the lack of restraint on the child. A report has been filed in reference to the second car for Failing to Stop and Render Aid.
The baby has been admitted to Hillcrest Hospital and is being treated for head injuries
