WACO -- Waco ISD will be discussing their budget plans in a meeting tonight.
In April the school anticipated losing $13 million from the state. After legislators announced massive cuts to public schools.
Because of the uncertain budget, the district notified 181 teachers they would not be renewing contracts.
21 of those weren't rehired because of performance issues, but now it looks like the district will only lose between $5 or $6 million, leaving them room to renew 114 contracts.
Next week the district hopes to get a concrete budget from legislators so they can make decisions on the remaining teachers.
