WACO -- Tonight the Waco ISD school board met and worked on some options they hope will be suitable to present to the public.
For the past 4 months now Waco ISD has been working to put together plans to close and combine schools to cut costs.
But doing so is no small task and there are a few pieces of criteria Waco ISD worked to follow to make such decisions.
"You look at the age of a building, you also have to look at utilization, and then you have to look at location. If we happen to close this school, how far would the children enrolled in that school have to go to get to another school," Waco ISD information officer Dale Caffey said.
There are many other factors involved in the school boards decisions but they are hoping to have a plan in place to present to the public by January 2012.
