WACO -- A Waco man is under arrest after holding a gun to his roommate's head and pulling the trigger.

Elbert Sanders, 34,  was arrested for attempted murder at his home around 2:30 Tuesday afternoon on the 2100 block of Liveoak.

When Sanders and another house-mate got into an argument, Sanders fired a round then held the gun at the victims head and pulled the trigger.

"During that disturbance the suspect pulled a gun, shot in the house at the victim, then put the gun to the victims head and pulled the trigger and the gun didn't go off. The victim was fortunate and able to get out of the home, went to a relatives house where they contacted police," Waco PD information officer Sgt. Patrick Swanton said.

Officers went to the home where Sanders was arrested for Attempted Murder, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, as well as many outstanding warrants.

He's now in McLennan County jail.
