A Waco man was arrested after using a gun to force his girlfriend out of an apartment with threats to kill her.

31-year-old Tony Tyrone Dickerson was arrested for aggravated kidnapping, unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of control substance and possession of marijuana.

Officers were called to the disturbance where Dickerson was seen by 911 callers assaulting his girlfriend. As officers arrived, Dickerson was trying to leave in his girlfriend’s car. The car stopped and Dickerson was arrested after a short foot chase by patrol officers.

An investigation by Waco officers found that Dickerson had assaulted his girlfriend, and was trying to force her out of the apartment and into a vehicle at gunpoint. She got away from him with the help of neighbors and Dickerson was trying to flee in her vehicle when officers arrived.

Officers found in his possession a handgun and drugs.
